Crossing a stream in Glen Nevis
For new members, and those looking to join, a big welcome! The pages in this section are designed to give you the best idea of what we're about. We are one of the most active Athletic Union clubs with a healthy subscription each year and very active members showing a positive interest in a very diverse range of activities we have on offer throughout the year. We welcome students of all experiences, whether you've never set foot in the hills before, you've bagged a few peaks in Scotland, or are an ice climbing god, there is a healthy range of activities to suit all and the opportunity to gain experience. We run trips every weekend to a variety of locations - and excellent way for JSA students, and others here for a short time to see some of Scotland in all it's varying weathers.
Climbing a short step in Fuselage Gully, Torridon
We have several experienced mountaineers who will gladly show you the ropes when it comes to climbing and more advanced walks, however, we must stress that the club does not offer lead trips, with every members responsible for their own safety. Should you wish to gain additional experience or qualifications the club has access to a number of subsidised or free courses, as well as the old one of trying to tag along with someone better than you. For extra profession tuitions see our links page.
Scottish inter uni bouldering, Edinburgh
The club also attends a number of competitions throughout the year both locally and nationally, available to all levels of climber.
I hope you will take the time to look through these few pages and should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the club.
